MENCK will supply its MHU4400S hydraulic hammer for wind turbine foundations in Scotland

MENCK will supply its market leading MHU4400S hydraulic hammer in the monopile installation configuration for the installation of a number of monopile foundations for wind turbines and OSPs with 7.5m top diameter in the North Sea offshore Scotland. 

Once operational, the wind farm will have the capacity to power up to 1.33 million homes in the United Kingdom. The large turbine size (14.7 megawatts) and water depth between 35 and 54 meters, and extremely large XXL monopiles weighing upto 2,000 tons each will be used for this development and require one of theworld’s largest hammers for the installation.

Capable of driving piles of up to 8m outer diameter, the MHU4400S hammer will be supplied with Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), operator cabin, spare parts, tools and accessories, power packs and hose package offered as part of the contract.
