New Liebherr mobile harbour crane at the Port of Arendal

The Port of Arendal opts for a new Liebherr mobile harbour crane type LHM 550 in order to boost its cargo handling capacity.

The new machine, which by the way is the largest mobile harbour crane in the south of Norway, was named “Hulk” by a local kindergarten in honour of the crane – based on the Marvel comic book character.

For increased efficiency, the LHM has been equipped with a suitable grab that is coupled with our SmartGrip technology. This feature can optimise the filling rate of the grab in a self-learning manner. An electric drive and a comprehensive service package are also part of the features setting the crane apart.

“The high level of quality at which Liebherr builds its cranes and, above all, the service concept Liebherr offers were two of the main reasons why we decided to buy a Liebherr mobile harbour crane,” says Rune Hvass, Port Director at Arendal Havn.
