Ocean Network Express (ONE) Launches WIN Service to Boost India-US Trade

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has reveals its latest initiative, the West India North America (WIN) service, aimed at bolstering connectivity between India’s west coast and the eastern United States. This move comes as India continues to assert its presence in global trade, boasting a substantial merchandise trade export volume of about 453 billion USD in 2022, with an impressive annual growth rate of 15%.

Expanding Reach and Reliability

Established in 2018, ONE India has steadily grown, currently maintaining a network of 25 offices and 410 employees as of 2022. The WIN service, scheduled to commence in May 2024, will operate with a fleet of nine vessels, ensuring reliability and flexibility for customers.

The service route encompasses key ports, linking Hazira, Nhava Sheva, Mundra to New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston, with additional calls at Damietta, Algeciras, and Jeddah, providing extended connectivity to Mediterranean destinations.

Strategic Impact on Trade and Industries

Apramapar Singh, General Manager of India Marketing at ONE, emphasized the significance of the Hazira container terminal as a gateway to South Gujarat, North Maharashtra, and Central India. Stating “Hazira container terminal is a gateway to the industrially vibrant belt of South Gujarat, North Maharashtra and Central India. The main commodities include FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) such as electronics, perishables such as foodstuff and retail goods including textile and apparel. Furthermore, chemical moving between these two countries will benefit from the direct and increased capacity. ONE’s new WIN will provide customers in this region with a fast and direct service to meet their needs for on-time delivery to and from North America.”He highlighted the potential benefits for commodities like FMCG, perishables, and retail goods, as well as chemicals, facilitating direct and increased capacity.

The service rotation includes ports like Bin Qasim, Hazira, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Damietta, Algeciras, New York, Savannah, Jacksonville, Charleston, Norfolk, Damietta, and Jeddah.
