Huisman Secures Contract to Boost Heerema Aegir’s Offshore Mast Crane to New Heights

Huisman reveals its latest achievement—a contract for the upgrade of the Offshore Mast Crane on Heerema’s Aegir. The project is set to elevate the second main hoist capacity from 2,000mt to an impressive 3,200mt, standing tall at 110 meters. This enhancement positions the Aegir as an ideal candidate for efficiently installing substantial jacket foundations.

This upgrade marks a significant leap for one of the world’s largest monohull crane vessels. The revamped crane will showcase a fixed jib section alongside a robust 3,200mt lower block and hook, providing Heerema with advanced lifting capabilities crucial for excelling in upcoming projects.

The Aegir vessel, initially equipped with a 4,000mt Offshore Mast Crane by Huisman in 2013, stands as a testament to the enduring quality and adaptability of Huisman’s technical solutions. Notably, in 2020, Huisman successfully boosted the lifting capacity of the main hoist to an impressive 5,000mt.

Expressing his enthusiasm, David Roodenburg, CEO of Huisman, stated, “We are honored to once again collaborate with Heerema on this milestone upgrade for the Aegir vessel. This project reaffirms our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions, enhancing operational efficiency, and fortifying our clients in their current and future endeavors.”

This initiative underscores Huisman’s dedication to pushing technological boundaries, ensuring their clients stay at the forefront of innovation in maritime and offshore industries.
