dship Carriers have released a statement regarding the Welland Canal collision involving their vessel MV Alanis.

dship Carriers can confirm that its chartered vessel, MV Alanis, was involved in a collision whilst transiting the Welland Canal, Ontario, Canada. The incident occurred at around 16:00 hours (EST) on Saturday, 11 July 2020.

We can confirm that all crew are safe and accounted for and there is no pollution. An initial assessment shows that MV Alanis has sustained damage to her bow. She is now moored safely, and further inspections and investigations will be completed.

MV Alanis is carrying a cargo of windmill equipment, which was unaffected in the incident.

dship Carriers is in contact with all relevant maritime authorities and is fully assisting in the investigation that will follow.
