Tallest Column on its way to Amur GCC

The tallest column, one of the most important elements of the pyrolysis of the Amur Gas Chemical Complex is now on its way to the project site.

The column of the C3 Splitter pyrolysis unit was reloaded in the seaport of De-Kastri (Khabarovsk Region) onboard a BigLift heavy lift vessel. The piece weighs 968 tonnes and measures 111 metres in length.

It will be delivered on the barge “Tomsk”, which has a carrying capacity of 5,700 tonnes. The same barge that was recently used to deliver Quench Tower – the heaviest AGCC equipment.

Through Nikolaevsk-on-Amur, along the Amur and Zeya rivers, a barge-towing train with a column will follow to a temporary pier located at 212 km of the Zeya River (near the city of Svobodny).

The convoy will be reloaded onto a special automotive modular transporter, and the land delivery stage will begin – “The Last Mile”, which will require dismantling the span of a non-public railway overpass for the unimpeded transportation of equipment.

The column will be delivered to the AGCC installation site. Time of the planned installation of the column at the site: end of September 2021.

NIPIGAS manages the logistics of large-scale equipment for the project.
