Vineyard Wind Achieve Successful Installation of 3500-ton Offshore Substation

Vineyard Wind reaches a significant project milestone. The offshore substation (ESP), weighing over 3500 tons, has been successfully installed – marking the heaviest lift in the entire construction campaign. The substation will serve as a central hub, receiving array cables from 62 turbines, and distributing power to two export cables, ensuring the transmission of clean, renewable energy to shore. With the ability to power 400,000 homes in Massachusetts, the project takes a major stride towards a greener and more sustainable future.
