To ensure the safe and timely arrival of Toyota vehicles at their destinations, the collaboration between APM Terminals and Toyota Gibraltar Stockholdings (TGS) has extended its footprint to Valencia. TGS, a specialized distributor of Toyota vehicles and spare parts for global humanitarian agencies, has further entrusted APM Terminals based on the success of their existing partnership in Algeciras since 2004.
The triumph of the service provided by Maersk and APM Terminals in Algeciras has paved the way for the loading and shipping of containers filled with Toyota vehicles in the Mediterranean region as well. The seamless operation in Algeciras, where the team loads and secures an average of 3,000 cars annually since 2004, has been a catalyst for this expansion.
At the terminal, experts meticulously load and secure each vehicle into 20 or 40-foot containers. This method ensures they are ready to embark on container ships, overcoming potential limitations at the destination’s infrastructure during unloading. Maersk, in collaboration with APM Terminals, ensures that TGS’s Toyota vehicles reach their intended locations unscathed, ready to support the humanitarian efforts of organizations worldwide.

Building on the success of this venture, APM Terminals is actively exploring opportunities to expand these capabilities further across its network. The goal is to facilitate the swift and secure transportation of even more vehicles to end-users in the most remote corners of the world. APM Terminals Valencia has recently joined the service, loading vehicles since December that do not require modifications before reaching their final destinations.
This collaborative effort emphasizes the commitment to delivering Toyota vehicles efficiently and safely to destinations, addressing the logistical challenges faced by humanitarian organizations. The success in Algeciras and the recent expansion to Valencia showcase the effectiveness of the partnership between APM Terminals and Toyota in the maritime, breakbulk, project freight, cargo, and logistics sectors.
As APM Terminals continues to explore avenues for enhancing these services, the partnership proves crucial in ensuring the global supply chain remains robust and responsive. The integration of Valencia into this collaboration marks a significant step forward, underscoring the dedication to meeting the diverse transportation needs of Toyota vehicles worldwide.
