BigLift Shipping, a prominent player in the maritime and logistics industry, has been making waves with its recent operations. From transporting massive cranes to facilitating upgrades, the company is leaving its mark on the industry.

Crane Delivery for Port of Savannah

In a significant feat, BigLift’s vessel, the BigLift Barentsz, recently completed the delivery of all-electric cranes to the Port of Savannah. These cranes, designed by Konecranes, are part of the port’s ambitious upgrade initiative. Four Super Post-Panamax ship-to-shore cranes, standing at impressive heights of 295 and 306 feet, were transported to replace older counterparts. The new cranes, standing 22 to 24 containers wide, will substantially enhance the port’s cargo handling efficiency.

Cranes for Cadeler’s Wind Orca

BigLift’s involvement also extends to offshore operations. The Happy Sky vessel took on the task of loading components for the Cadeler’s Wind Orca jack-up vessel. Notably, a massive 1,492 mt Continuous Ship Unloader (CSU) was successfully loaded onto the vessel. The CSU, manufactured by Doosan on behalf of Glonet TLS, is intended for the JAWA 9 & 10 construction project in Indonesia. This operation highlights the impressive capabilities of BigLift’s vessels in handling complex cargoes.

Upgrades and Expansion

Furthermore, the Happy Star vessel of BigLift Shipping undertook a remarkable task by loading a CSU in a tandem lift operation. The CSU, destined for Indonesia, marked the first docking of a vessel at the Cilegon facility. This underlines the company’s commitment to pushing boundaries and exploring new horizons.

The maritime industry is gearing up for monumental changes. Cadeler’s Wind Orca is set to receive upgraded cranes with significantly enhanced lifting capacities, ready to tackle the demands of larger wind turbines. These cranes, with a lifting capacity of 1,600 metric tons, are a testament to the industry’s constant evolution.

From the bustling Port of Savannah to offshore wind projects, BigLift Shipping continues to demonstrate its expertise and innovation. The company’s dedication to seamless logistics and efficient operations remains unwavering, cementing its position as a trailblazer in the maritime sector.

Quote from BigLift Shipping spokesperson: “Our recent operations underscore our commitment to delivering excellence in maritime logistics, whether it’s handling large-scale cranes or facilitating offshore advancements.”

With these impactful endeavors, BigLift Shipping is not only moving cargoes but also shaping the future of maritime operations.
