Fugro Expands Reach: ROV Induction Course Sets Sail for Australia

Meeting the soaring demand for skilled Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) operators, Fugro has inked a significant memorandum of understanding with Commercial Dive Academy (CDA) and AMC Search (AMCS). This collaboration aims to bring Fugro’s highly acclaimed ROV Induction Course to Australia, opening new avenues for aspiring professionals in the maritime and offshore industries.

The 4-week ROV Induction course, set to take place at CDA’s facility in Beauty Point, Tasmania, serves as a gateway for individuals with the relevant IMCA pre-requisites. It caters to those seeking to enter the ROV industry, broaden their career horizons, or pivot into the intricate world of piloting ROVs for offshore projects ranging from renewable energy initiatives to scientific research.

Nic Bender, Acting CEO of AMC Search, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “AMC Search is thrilled to partner with Fugro and the Commercial Dive Academy to offer this comprehensive ROV training program.” As Australia’s exclusive economic zone buzzes with activity, the collaboration aligns with the industry’s growing need for proficient ROV operators.

Michael Strong, General Manager of Commercial Dive Academy, highlighted the broader career pathway this collaboration unveils. He stated, “Our school’s vision has always been to offer a long-term fulfilling and viable career pathway that extends beyond diving.” The partnership enables the delivery of a diversified skill set to ambitious individuals, better serving the marine, offshore, and oil and gas industries.

Wayne Reynolds, Global Technical Training Manager at Fugro, shed light on the industry’s expansion and the vital role of trained staff. “The offshore industry is going through a significant period of growth,” he noted. “Partnering with industry-leading organizations CDA and AMCS will allow Fugro to expand the reach of our training.”

As the offshore industry experiences a surge in demand, this collaboration positions itself as a beacon, combining Fugro’s global expertise, AMC Search’s industry knowledge, and CDA’s rigorous training standards. The ROV Induction Course’s arrival in Australia marks a significant step toward fostering skilled professionals in the maritime and offshore sectors.
