Heavyweight Loading Unleashed: Flossdorf Boosts Fleet with Cutting-edge Liebherr Cranes

Strengthening its position in heavy-duty logistics, Dietmar Flossdorf GmbH & Ko. KG has welcomed its second Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 mobile crane, marking a significant expansion of its capabilities. This powerhouse of machinery is among the most modern in the mobile crane market, making its grand entrance into Bad Neuenahr, Germany, in January.

Expanding Capacities with Cutting-edge Technology

The convoy from Ehingen delivered not only the 8-axle LTM 1650-8.1 but also the transporters for its complete equipment and escort vehicles, alongside a brand new LTM 1110-5.2, the first crane equipped with the LICCON3 control system in Flossdorf’s fleet. Marco Flossdorf, an authorized signatory, expressed satisfaction with their first LTM 1650-8.1, emphasizing its impressive load capacities, high performance, and flexibility. This prompted the strategic decision to add a second crane of the same caliber to their arsenal.

Maiden Voyage: Heavy Cargo at the Port of Andernach

The inauguration of the new LTM 1650-8.1 featured a challenging task: loading 115 tonnes of heavy machine parts at the Rhine harbour in Andernach. Sascha Vogt, the crane operator, commenced the operation early in the morning, navigating the powerful crane through the dark with the assistance of spotlights on the boom and superstructure, ensuring optimal safety.

Safety, Quality, and Flexibility at the Core

Marco Flossdorf highlighted Liebherr’s commitment to safety, quality, and reliability in design and production, qualities evident in the LTM 1650-8.1. The crane’s mobility and flexibility, enhanced by features like VarioBallast® and VarioBase®, make it adaptable to various working environments.

A Versatile Trio: LTM 1110-5.2 Joins the Fleet

Flossdorf also introduced the LTM 1110-5.2, a universal mobile crane with a capacity of 110 tonnes. Its design, power, and ability to carry up to 13.4 tonnes of ballast on the road contribute to its versatility. Crane operator Sascha Vogt praised the comfort of the new LTM 1650-8.1, emphasizing its ease of operation during on-road driving.

Flossdorf’s Legacy of Excellence

Founded in 1953, Flossdorf has evolved into a robust force in the industry, employing around 60 professionals and operating a fleet of approximately 20 mobile cranes. The company’s portfolio encompasses heavy haulage, work platforms, car hire, and recovery and towing services.

In the ever-evolving landscape of maritime and heavy-duty logistics, Flossdorf’s strategic acquisition of cutting-edge Liebherr cranes solidifies its commitment to excellence and innovation.
