Huisman, a renowned global leader in heavy construction equipment design, production, and maintenance, is making waves in the port and logistics sector with its latest announcement. The Dutch company has secured a significant order from Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT) for a series of state-of-the-art Automated Stacking Cranes (ASCs) aimed at revolutionizing container handling and buffering efficiency within ports.

The ASCs, boasting fully automated processes, are poised to deliver a reliable solution tailored for optimizing operational efficiency, crucial for the demands of round-the-clock port operations. This move underscores Huisman’s unwavering commitment to pioneering cutting-edge solutions across diverse industries, leveraging its extensive in-house engineering and production capabilities, ranging from sophisticated automation systems to intricate structural designs.

Huisman has strategically divided its manufacturing process between two key European facilities. Moreover, commissioning and testing of the ASCs will be conducted at the ECT Delta terminal located in the Maasvlakte area of the Port of Rotterdam, further highlighting Huisman’s logistical acumen and commitment to sustainability.

David Roodenburg, the CEO of Huisman, expressed gratitude to ECT for entrusting them with this pivotal contract, marking their entry into the competitive port and logistics sector. He emphasized the significance of delivering high-quality equipment, citing the anticipated four million non-stop handling cycles over the next three decades. Roodenburg highlighted Huisman’s dedication to quality and reliability, aligning seamlessly with ECT’s stringent standards. Leveraging their rich heritage of nearly a century in offshore crane manufacturing, Huisman is poised to bring unparalleled expertise to the port industry.

Huisman’s global footprint extends across various sectors, catering to leading companies in renewable energy, oil and gas, civil engineering, and entertainment. Their projects range from standalone components to complex integrated systems, showcasing their ability to provide end-to-end solutions from concept to installation and ongoing support. With operations spanning multiple countries including the Netherlands, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Norway, Singapore, and the USA, Huisman stands as a testament to innovation and excellence on a global scale.
