JIFMAR EXPANDS WORKBOAT FLEET WITH ACQUISITION OF ACTA MARINE’S WORKBOAT ACTIVITIES

Jifmar Offshore Services has inked a deal to acquire all workboat activities from Acta Marine, solidifying its position as the world’s largest independent operator of workboats. The agreement covers 26 workboats, a skilled crew of 200 employees, the Netherlands-based organization, and all existing contracts.

A Giant Leap for Jifmar

Jean Michel Berud, CEO of Jifmar Offshore Services, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting the significance of this move. He stated, “Together with Acta Marine Workboats, Jifmar will become the world’s largest independent operator of workboats. We have now obtained a strong base in the Netherlands, being a center for international workboat activities.”

This acquisition provides Jifmar with a substantial foothold, propelling it to the forefront of the industry. The addition of Acta Marine’s workboat assets aligns seamlessly with Jifmar’s vision for global workboat operations.

Dutch Office to Sail On

Acta Marine’s Workboat activities will continue to set sail from their Den Helder office in the Netherlands. Under the Jifmar brand, this branch will focus on shallow water and near-coastal marine projects. The current Acta Workboat contact persons for clients, suppliers, and personnel will remain unchanged, ensuring a smooth transition.

A New Captain at the Helm

Govert Jan van Oord, Managing Director of Acta Marine Workboats, will navigate the transition, transferring with the business as part of the Workboat division. Van Oord expressed confidence in the move, stating, “Within Jifmar, we found a new strong home for our workboat activities, and together with Jifmar, we will be able to offer a broader range of services to our clients all over the world.”

With Jan van Oord at the helm, the Dutch activities for Jifmar are poised for growth, promising an expanded range of services for clients globally.

Acta Marine’s Focus on Offshore Wind Construction

Acta Marine will retain ownership and operation of an expanding fleet of Offshore Wind Construction Support Vessels. The Rotterdam office and staff will continue to spearhead Acta Marine’s endeavors. The company, with its three walk-to-work vessels in operation and four more under construction, is set for substantial growth with deliveries expected in 2024.

The transaction, set in motion in early December, reflects the commitment of both Jifmar and Acta Marine to a seamless transition. Their primary focus is on ensuring business continuity for clients, suppliers, and personnel.

As the maritime industry witnesses this landmark acquisition, Jifmar’s expansion into workboat activities promises not only a consolidation of resources but also the potential for a new era of comprehensive maritime services.
