Jumbo fixes the shipment of heavy cargo to Africa

The Jumbo commercial team have fixed client cargoes for one of its vessels, the M.V. Fairplayer, destined for Africa and South Africa.

The heavy-lift carrier and its experienced crew first completed an offshore project and, after demobilisation and conversion to shipboard operations in Rotterdam, started directly loading several general cargoes and power plant equipment below deck and a barge on deck.

The barge, weighing about 940 tonnes, was a barge before the conversion. The proactive cooperation between both engineering teams ensured a safe and efficient lift.

After the barge was loaded in Vlissingen, the team went to Cherbourg to load a crew boat and now the vessel is on its way to St Nazaire to load an engine and some ancillary equipment before heading to discharge ports in Benin, Nigeria, Angola and Richards Bay, South Africa.
