LOTOS Petrobaltic SA, Together with Strategic Marine, Brings New Build Crew Transfer Vessel to Poland

LOTOS Petrobaltic S.A., a subsidiary of the ORLEN Group, has inked a significant deal with Strategic Marine for the construction of StratCat 27 Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV). This groundbreaking vessel marks a pivotal milestone as the first of its kind tailored to serve the burgeoning Polish offshore wind sector.

Expected to be collected this summer and delivered to Europe by early September 2024, this bespoke CTV will enrich the existing fleet managed by Miliana Shipmanagement Limited, a vital component of the LOTOS Petrobaltic capital group. With a fleet comprising five offshore vessels, Miliana Shipmanagement is renowned for its innovative solutions in the offshore industry, spanning from initial design to seamless vessel operations.

The forthcoming StratCat 27 holds the distinction of being the pioneer unit within the Poland offshore wind farm market. Initially deployed for technician transfers in the North Sea, its ultimate domain will encompass the Baltic Sea’s exclusive economic zone, aligning with Poland’s ambitious renewable energy goals. Technical Ship Management will spearhead the vessel’s technical oversight, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to rigorous safety standards.

Crafted to navigate offshore wind farms with precision, the StratCat 27 is engineered to meet stringent efficiency, performance, and safety benchmarks. Leveraging advanced technologies for optimal fuel consumption, it complies with the latest Tier III emission standards and is primed for the integration of hybrid systems in subsequent phases. Enhanced with reinforced hull plating, the vessel is tailor-made to brave the Baltic Sea’s harsh conditions, ensuring uninterrupted technician and supply transfers over extended distances without compromising comfort or safety.

A standout feature of the StratCat 27 is its resilience in adverse weather conditions, a critical attribute for maritime operations. Equipped with state-of-the-art navigation and communication systems, it prioritizes safety and operational efficiency.

Internally, the vessel prioritizes crew comfort and convenience, boasting accommodation for up to nine crew members and 24 passengers. This thoughtful design underscores LOTOS Petrobaltic SA and Strategic Marine’s commitment to fostering a conducive working environment at sea.

As the offshore wind sector gains momentum, the collaboration between LOTOS Petrobaltic SA and Strategic Marine heralds a new era of innovation in maritime transportation. With its maiden voyage imminent, the StratCat 27 signifies a leap towards a greener, more efficient offshore industry landscape.
