In a strategic move set to reshape the logistics landscape in Guyana, Rafeek & Moore and Bertling Logistics have officially joined hands to establish Rafeek & Moore Bertling Logistics (Guyana) Inc. The joint venture (JV) company is scheduled to commence operations on October 1, 2023, headquartered at Rafeek & Moore’s well-established office in the bustling Port of Georgetown.

Situated on the northern coast of South America, Guyana is emerging as an economic powerhouse, driven by abundant natural resources and recent oil discoveries. Its strategic location, serving as a gateway to both South America and the Caribbean, positions it as a key hub for trade and commerce.

Venturing into Opportunities

Rafeek & Moore Bertling Logistics (Guyana) Inc. aims to explore diverse business opportunities in Guyana, particularly in the oil and gas, mining, and construction sectors. The collaboration leverages the strengths of both companies, adding value to logistics services and structures.

Leadership Expertise

Colin Moore of Rafeek & Moore and Steve Ross-Munro of Bertling Logistics will spearhead the joint venture. Colin, with over 30 years of experience in the Guyanese market, brings unparalleled local knowledge and connections. Steve, a veteran in global logistics, enhances the partnership with his extensive background in the industry.

Global Reach and Specializations

Bertling Logistics, founded over 158 years ago in Germany, specializes in global project logistics and transport engineering solutions. Rafeek & Moore, a 100% Guyanese-owned transport company, excels in general freight forwarding, trucking, and customs brokerage services in Guyana. The collaboration combines Bertling’s global network and project experience with Rafeek & Moore’s local expertise.

Colin Moore expresses enthusiasm, stating, “We are proud to have Bertling as a loyal and trusted partner to expand our local service offering and diversify our portfolio.” Colin MacIsaac, CEO of Bertling Logistics, echoes this sentiment, anticipating a leading position in Guyana amid ongoing energy transitions.

The joint venture aims to address evolving logistics needs, with a focus on adaptability and excellence. As Guyana takes center stage in economic development, the alliance between Rafeek & Moore and Bertling Logistics is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s logistics landscape.
