SAL Heavylift and Sai Maritime Successfully Transport 3 Liebherr Cranes to Indian Ports

SAL Heavylift and Sai Maritime & Management have added another feather to their cap. They successfully transported three Liebherr LHM 420 Cranes from Indonesia to the ports of Nhava Sheva and Paradip aboard the MV COMBI DOCK 1, known as “the Heavy load carrier,” on behalf of “J.M. BAXI – THE PORT SPECIALISTS.” The vessel arrived at Nhava Sheva Port on the 77th Independence Day of India, marking a momentous occasion in the world of maritime logistics.

To execute this challenging project, Sai Maritime collaborated with Jumbo-SAL-Alliance, harnessing their invaluable engineering solutions to ensure a smooth loading and discharging operation. The MV COMBI DOCK 1 efficiently loaded the three cranes, each weighing a colossal 300 metric tons, along with their accessories, including four spreaders and 15 counterweights, in Surabaya, Indonesia. It then set sail directly to Nhava Sheva, India, and subsequently to PICT Paradip.

The MV COMBI DOCK 1 boasts impressive capabilities, featuring two 350-ton SWL cranes that can be combined for a total SWL of 700 tons, along with an additional 200-ton SWL crane. This configuration makes it well-equipped to handle even the heaviest of cargoes. The vessel’s box-shaped cargo hold offers a remarkable capacity of 21,934 cubic meters or 800 meters of Ro-Ro deck lanes, complemented by a stern ramp with a 700-ton SWL capacity. Moreover, its semi-submersible capabilities enable it to transport floating cargo, expanding its versatility for various cargo types.

The entire expedition was meticulously coordinated by the Sai Maritime Agency team, ensuring a seamless and efficient discharging operation at the destination ports. Sai Maritime looks forward to taking on similar operational challenges in the near future, further solidifying their reputation as leaders in maritime logistics.
