BOKA Vanguard Successfully Completes First Marine Decommissioning Project

Boskalis’ largest semi-submersible heavy transport vessel was involved in a significant marine decommissioning project for the first time. Following the successful securing and disconnection of a floating production unit (FPU) off the West African coast by the SMIT Salvage team late last year, the BOKA Vanguard recently transported this vessel to Scandinavia, where it was delivered to a ship recycling facility.

In recent times, the BOKA Vanguard has undertaken various noteworthy transport operations. It was responsible for transporting the 322-meter-long and 48-meter-wide cruise ship Carnival Vista, as well as a newly constructed fish farm spanning 385 meters in length and 60 meters in width. Additionally, the BOKA Vanguard accomplished the transportation of six caissons, collectively weighing over 93,000 tons, which stands as her heaviest cargo to date.
